Rusk Turn Table Run

Texas State Railroad invites you to join us on our newly added Rusk Turntable Excursion. Departing from the beautiful Rusk, TX Rail Depot, we will dive into the beautiful sights of the Piney Woods as well as deep into history traversing the tracks to the Locomotive / Railcar turntable located in Maydelle TX. The Locomotive / Railcar turntable was built in the 1890’s and you will be able to witness the ages-old technology as we will turn the locomotive for our return trip back to the Rusk, TX Rail Depot.

This trip is approximately 1.5 hours round-trip, and several seating options and rates are available for this excursion. An ADA-compliant coach is available but must be reserved directly through our Reservations Desk.

There will be a concession car that will have snacks and a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase.

A $3.00 Historical Preservation Fee will be added to the individual ticket rate at checkout. This fee goes directly towards, our depots and the railroad and is used to protect, enhance buildings, places and objects of historical and cultural significance.

Car attendant(s) will serve light appetizers and 1 (One) bottled water to guests upon departure. Deluxe First-Class is family friendly and all seating is assigned. Parties not divisible by 4 (Four) will be assigned a booth front to back or across the aisle and may share a table with non-party guests. This car is NOT ADA-compliant.
